 This little bee buzzed in just as I snapped the picture of this cone flower. Great timing! Oh, and all my gardens are bee-friendly. No pesticide dust in my gardens. Gardeners who use that have, in reality, set a lethal trap for bees by attracting them with their flowering plants, only to have them carry the dust back to their hives  with the potential to contaminate and kill the hive.

 My dear late friend, Mary Lee Rowell, gave me a small clump of these daisies from her garden more than 20 years ago. She would love to see what that clump has grown into. I would love to see her again and hear her laugh.

Southern Sweet Tea with Lemon

3 family size tea bags of your choice (I use decaf tea like Luzianne, Lipton, or Tetley, and even green tea.)
1 large lemon
Sugar to taste (I use about 1/2 cup per 1/2 gallon; you might like more or less.)
Water to fill coffee maker carafe

Fill coffee maker with water to maximum level. Place tea bags in carafe and hit the "brew" button. When finished brewing, turn the machine off and let the tea steep for 30 minutes in the carafe. Pour into 1/2 gallon pitcher, squeeze the lemon juice into the tea and stir in the sugar till it's dissolved. Fill pitcher the rest of the way with cold water. Serve in tall glasses over plenty of ice.
